Close the Texas Youth Commission?
Wednesday, April 23rd, 2008Is it time to do away with the Texas Youth Commission? Senate Criminal Justice Chairman John Whitmire believes so. Almost a year into the restructuring effort at TYC, Whitmire now thinks it makes more sense to do away with that entity and create a new model for juvenile justice in Texas. Marc Levin, Director of the Foundation’s Center for Effective Justice, has been a leader in Texas’ juvenile justice reforms, and this week, he brings us up to speed on the current discussions.
