Barr Nomination Energizes Texas LP Candidates

Former House Majority Leader, Dick Armey, was recently quoted as saying that he feels that many Republicans will vote for Libertarian candidates in house races. The Texas LP leadership agrees with this assessment and gives a lot of credit to the nomination of Bob Barr as the LP Presidential candidate.

Woman ‘Wins’ her own Burial

A 60 year-old woman from Texas was well chuffed to win a competition at a Grand Prairie AirHogs minor league baseball game. Sounds pretty good huh, but this tale has a morbid twist…The prize: A burial plot and funeral worth $5,000.

Is there an oil price bubble forming?

I’ve been too busy lately to more deeply analyze this yet. But something smells like a flat skunk on a Texas highway here. Last year, oil was about $70 per barrel. This year it’s closing quickly on $140. Is there a bubble building up in the oil commodities markets?

Former UT Running Back Cedric Benson Arrested in Austin

Former University of Texas running back Cedric Benson was arrested in Austin last night and charged with driving while intoxicated (DUI/DWI) - a violation of Texas Penal Code § 49.04. His arrest comes one month after being charged with boating while intoxicated on Lake Travis and resisting arrest.
